HIMALAYA LIP BALM- REVIEW

HIMALAYA LIP BALM- REVIEW

10 gms for INR 20

Company Says:- Lip Balm enriched with Carrot Seed Oil, a natural sunscreen and Wheatgerm Oil, a rich source of Vitamin E, to nourish and soften lips.

Direction For Use:- Apply on lips as and when needed.

Ingredients:- Each gm contains: Oils Eranda (Rinicus Communis) 10mg, Garijara (Daucus Carota) 10mg, Godhuma (Triticum sativum) 10mg, Hyamaraka (Wrightia tinctoria) 10mg, Narikela (Cocos nucifera) 10mg.

* Store in a cool and dry place * Do not freeze * Ayurvedic Propriety Medicine * Hypo-allergenic * No harmful chemicals *

My Opinion:- I have been using this lip balm on and of for quite sometimes now. It is the most overlooked product of Himalaya. A single tube goes on and on for a long time. Its very moisturising and prevents chapping. A little balm under my lipstick keeps my lips soft and moist. This lip balm contains Wheatgerm Oil and Coconut Oil which are very nourishing and moisturising in nature. It also contains Carrot seed Oil which is a natural sunscreen. It stays on for an hour or 2 during daytime but at night it stays on till the morning. In the long run it prevents and heals chapped lips which most of us face during winters.
It has a somewhat fruity scent which is mild n doesn't stays on for long and looks like Vaseline, only its a bit thicker. The lip balm comes with a shelf life of 3 years and it claims to contain 100% herbal actives and its very cheap at only INR 20. The tube comes with an easy to apply slanted tip therefore there is no tension of contamination. But I do clean off the tip with a tissue regularly. Moreover it is a hypo allergenic lip balm without any harmful chemicals which makes it safe for kids also.

This product has no cons whatsoever and I rate this lip balm 5 out of 5. I will purchase it as soon as it gets over. Thanks to Himalaya for this great lip balm :D

REPUBLIC DAY NAIL ART

Final Look

Wish you all a very happy Repulic Day. I had not posted for few days as I was a little busy with my work. Since its Repuic Day Eve I thought of trying out a simple tri-color look on my nails. I used 3 colors- orange, white and green, tried using navy blue also but ended up using black :P So here is how I did my nails this time.

I began with applying colorbar nail treatment and let it dry out completely.

* Then I drew the pattern with a marker on all my nails.

* Now I filled in the white polish at first as it is easy to apply this way.

* When the white polish was dry, I applied green polish on 1 side of the white part and orange on the other side of the white part.

* Now I left it to dry completely and then give it a black border as it was looking too simple.

* Finally I sealed in my masterpiece :p with a top coat and I was done.

Thanks you Ladies for bearing with me :D. Please do leave behind your precious comments. Thanks

AVON SIMPLY PRETTY KAJAL- SWATCHES N REVIEW

AVON SIMPLY PRETTY KAJAL- SWATCHES N REVIEW

2.6 gms for INR 79

Ingredients:- Not Listed

My Opinion:- I love applying kajal on my eyes. I apply it everyday and my makeup seems to be incomplete without it. Basically my everyday makeup is just a tinted lip balm or gloss or kajal. I keep on experimenting with different brands and last month my pick was Avon Simply Pretty Kajal. It comes in only 1 shade- Black, matt and intense. I line my upper-lids with it after priming and powdering my lids and the kajal stays on for 3+ hours. I am happy to declare that this kajal don't fade off soon and also it doesn't smudge off.
But after the said 3 hours it fades off leaving a light-blackish vague line on my upper-lid, I must say that I am much impressed by this kajal. But when applied to my waterline it fades off soon leaving a line on the roots of my lower lashes. It wears off before the first hour of application and needs to be reapplied time and again- it sucks, also it smudges if I don't add a dash of powder below my lower-lashes. But otherwise it stays put till I remove it with a makeup remove from the roots of my lower lash line. Line on the upper-lid is easily removed by my Pond's Daily Face Wash.

Pros:- Cheap, comes in a pencil so I can keep sharpening it to make its tip pointed whenever necessary and in the process avoid contamination, intense black, easily glides on so no need to tug or swipe over and again. No irritation ( I have sensitive eyes)

Cons:- Ingredients not listed, smudges- but all kajals do, 3-4 swipes needed on my waterline.

I rate this product 3 out of 5 only because the ingredients of this kajal are not listed. Otherwise its a steal at INR 79 and I already have 2 pencils with me right now. Its not a must buy for me because I would rather prefer experimenting with another brand :-D

FOOT PROBLEMS- CAUSES, TREATMENT N PREVENTION- III

Ways to prevent foot problems:

Footbath:- A footbath with a dash of bath salts is an essential routine for relaxing and soothing feeling. It does away with aches, pains and odour problems. Use a pumice stone in a gentle to and fro movement and wash off loosened skin. Thoroughly dry your feet with a soft, fluffy towel and don't forget to dry between toes. Smooth on a rich foot cream.

Soothing Foot Massage:- Your legs and feet also respond to regular pampering. Give them a soothing and relaxing yourself or get it done in a parlour. The guideline to a good massage is ''the better you feel, the better you are massaging it''

Pedicure:- A pedicure forms a part of your weekly routine and must be carried out religiously to keep your feet in pristine condition and problem free too. For a simple DIY pedicure click here.

LOTUS HERBALS-NATURALBLEND-Swift Makeup-SPF 15-All Four In One-REVIEW

LOTUS HERBALS-NATURALBLEND-Swift Makeup-SPF 15-All Four In One-REVIEW
10 gms for INR 249

Company Says:- All-in-one makeup that works like a foundation, a concealer n a compact, with sun protection. Its smooth application creates an even skin tone, conceals imperfections n blends easily for a matte effect, without caking or clogging pores.
*Foundation *Concealer *Matt Powder Finish- Yet Moisturising *UV Protection*

Ingredients:- Not Listed

Directions for use:- Not Available

My Opinion:- I am a very foundation person, I like to try out new ones these days. When Lotus Herbals was on offer I bought this foundation/concealer with the intention of using it as a concealer specially to make up a luscious nude lips and to cover up under-eye dark circles. Mine are not so dark so needs less coverage. This stick comes in a tube just like a lipstick so its very convenient to use on my lips and around my eyes. It gives medium coverage and feels light on my skin. I used it as a foundation and it didn't feel and look cakey and made up. This stick will be good for dry skin owners as it feels a little oily after application and will not suit very oily skin I suppose.
Basically it is non fragrant and doesn't irritate my skin nor did I break out while using it. I tried to blend it with a foundation brush but didn't work for me so I used a sponge wedge to blend it into my skin though fingers work just as fine but I don't like to use my fingers. Needs fast and good blending like most concealers do. It gives UV protection so I can wear it on my bare cleansed skin. I don't find it turning into a matte powdery finish maybe because I have oily skin. Actually I have to dust it lightly with a loose translucent powder to set it. Spreads easily but using a brush gave streaks. Someone looking for high coverage please opt out of this product. And yes it gives me ultra sexy nude lips :D
See how well it blends

Pros:- Packaging is classy and convenient in a tube form, travel-friendly, blends into the skin, spreads easily, UV protective, I am not breaking out- using it every now and then

Cons:- Doesn't give matte powdery finish- but I am OK with it, ingredients not listed

I rate this product 4.5 out of 5 and I will surely buy it again since I am happy with this product :D:D

Winter Woes- READER'S REQUEST

Hi Ladies, a sweet reader of my blog Priya has a couple of problems. Here is my stand on her problem.
 Priya Fashion Designer said...
HI dear.. i hv got a very severe prblm.. my face is oily.. but during winter its bcumng dry.. n skin bcumng vry uneven..n tough.. if i use a gud moisturiser thn again pimples comes out. plz suggest me some gud remedies. i also want some gud kind of home facial tips

Hi PriyaFashion from what you are saying I am assuming that the T-zone of your face remains oily while the cheeks are drying up, that's a typical combination skin type. This is common in young girls like us. If this is your problem then use products for oily skin on T-zone and dry skin products on cheeks and neck. Use a gentle face wash or cleanser as per your choice, also moisturise accordingly. You can use a toner on your T-zone only if you are into toners. Check for dandruff and clear it if you happen to have it. Dandruff if left untreated can cause acne so be carefull. For tips on a home facial click here. If you want face pack recipes click here.

A cleansing mask for you-
Yogurt and Egg Mask:- 1 Egg's white and 4-5 tbspn yogurt

Beat the egg white until stiff and add yogurt and mix very well.
Apply all over face and neck. Wipe clean using a muslin cloth dipped in hot water, followed by the muslin cloth saturated in cold water.

*For oily skin: Add a tspn of lemon juice

*For dry skin: Add a tspn of honey to the above paste

*For combination skin: Make 2 portions of the paste, 1 with lemon juice for the T-zone and the other with honey for the rest of the face and neck.
Please help Priya with more beauty recipes for the specified problems. Thanks

POND'S DAILY FACE WASH- REVIEW
Active Cleansing System

50 gms for INR 35

Company Says:- The first step to facial care for soft, smooth skin. For clean and soft skin that glows. Suitable for normal, dry, oily and combination skin types.

How it works:-
* Thoroughly cleanses without leaving slippery feeling on skin
* Cleans skin. 100% soap free** formula with rich lathe penetrates and removes deep rooted dirt, leaving your skin cleaner and smoother
* Gentle on skin. Active Cleansing System cleans gently and cares for your skin better than soap

Results:- Clean, soft, glowing skin

Usage:- Splash face with water and apply face-wash on face and neck. Rinse off. Pat dry. If face-wash gets into your eyes, rinse well with water.

** Soap free washing preparation with organic surface active agents.

Ingredients:- Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Glycerin, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Cocamide MEA, Perfume, Sodium, Carboxymethyl Cellolose, Titanium Dioxide, Methyl Paraben, Dimethiconol n TEA-Dodecylbenzenesulfonate, DMDM Hydantoin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Propyl Paraben, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, BHT, Tetrasodium EDTA, Glycol Distearate

My Opinion:- The fragrance is so refreshing and mild like all other Pond's Face Washes. Because of this shivering cold my skin has turned from oily to combination type. This face-wash sounded good- 100% soap free, contain Glycerin and Vitamin E. It foams slightly and doesn't give a very rich lather. I wet my face and take a tiny blob of the face wash on my palm, add a few drops of water, foam it and apply it to my face and neck. It cleans off all makeup and also kajal (except Lakme Satin Kajal) very gently and leaves behind that mild scent identifies to Pond's. And on top of it I haven't broken out and also my T-zone doesn't become oilier or greasier.
It consistency is that of a milky white gel and a little goes a long way. It gives my skin the claimed softness and smoothness and also the said glow- an added bonus. It removes eye/lip makeup without much effort and it has not been harsh on my skin. But I think this product will not work for my oily skin in the summers but for this winters its doing great. The packaging is pretty in white and leaf green, also the price is too good.

Pros:- 100% soap free, gentle on my skin, cheap, effective, does what it claims

Cons:- Contains Paraben

I rate this product 4.5 out of 5. I am loving it right now and planning to use it all through the winters. Recommended for girls with dry skin.

EverYuth Skin Essential Moisturising Creme- REVIEW

EverYuth Skin Essential Moisturising Creme- REVIEW

120 gms for INR 80

Company Says:- EverYuth Skin Essential Moisturising Creme is enriched with a unique combination of Natural 'Skin Essential Oils' that helps replenish the natural oils and maintain the moisture level of your skin, giving your skin a smooth, nourished and non-greasy look. Natural 'Skin Essential Oils' are rich in EFA (Essential Fatty Acids), known for their proven skin softening and nourishing properties.

Directions for Use:- For smoother and softer skin, massage on to your face and neck, morning and night.

Suitability:- Suitable for all skin types.

My Opinion:- The severe cold in Delhi is turning my oily skin into combination skin :P So I thought of trying a couple of products suited for combination skin types. Actually after washing my cheeks felt a little stretched so I planned to try out this moisturising creme. On opening the tub I found out a protective foil on top, removed it and took in the fragrance, it smelt like almond oil, nice and mild. So I dug up a blob and initially thought that it had a heavy consistency and thick texture somewhat like Johnson's Baby Cream. But then when I started applying it on dots on my face and neck, I proved myself wrong. Surprisingly it was light and watery in texture, this I found out when I spread it all over my face and neck. It got absorbed into my skin real fast not leaving behind any greasiness.
But after application the scent changed to that of fresh sunflowers- yuck- I hate it so much. This cream disappeared into my skin without effort and my skin felt light- no heaviness was noted. I haven't broken out and my T-zone hasn't become oilier or greasier. The cream evaporates and gives me the right kind of moisturising all day long. I like this product as it stays on for hours and gives me very soft skin. I had never used EverYuth Product before but my first brush with it is pleasant enough.

Pros:- Non-greasy, haven't broken me out, super cheap, very moisturising, does what it claims.

Cons:- No UV protection, contains Paraben, have to sanitize my hands before digging up a blob of this cream as it comes in a tub.

I rate this product 4 out of 5. No its not a must have for me and I would prefer trying other brands.

Halitosis or Bad Breath is an unpleasant odour of the mouth. Halitosis diminishes your self-confidence and is an embarrassing condition.

Cause:- It is caused by poor mouth hygiene, extensive tooth decay, gum disease, excessive smoking or improper diet.

Treatment:- Mouthwashes and rinses keep your breath only for short durations and do not provide a permanent solution. It is advisable that a dentist attends on you immediately. Any manufactured, chemically based mouth washes and rinses may be used only after consulting your dentist.

Some safe, excellent mouth washes and rinses:-
* To a glass of water, add the juice of a lemon and use as a rinse

* Gargle with mint juice
* Chew on a fresh orange peel for half an hour

* A little tamarind combined with salt cleans your tongue and reduces bad breath

* Mix equal quantities of vinegar and water and use as a rinse

* Gargle with rose water or the juice of rose petals

Prevention:- Proper oral hygiene including regular brushing with dental floss is the only way to prevent Halitosis.

Diet:- A varied diet of fresh fruits, Green Leafy Vegetables, Whole grain bread and meat will provide your teeth and gums with vitamins and minerals essential for dental health.
Treat yourself with juicy Pears, Apples, Carrots and Strawberries at the end of your meal. Vitamin 'A' is necessary for overall health of gums and teeth. Cut down on diets that are high in sugary contents. Remember to drink a glass of milk before brushing at night.

PINK & SILVER NAIL ART- SPONGE TECHNIQUE

Final Look
Hi Lovelies, wish you all a Very Happy and Prosperous New Year (Belated) :-D I had gone on to warmer parts of our country after Delhi cooled down to freezing temperatures. Sorry for not posting this long and not commenting on your lovely blogs (read informative posts). I got to catch up with all of you :)

So to start this new year I have a pink and silver nail art for you all. This is my 101st post and am so happy and thankful to you all for your love and support.

Coming back to my nail art, this time I tried my hand at the so-famous sponge technique. Here are the steps:-

Nude Pink

I prepared my nail by cleaning and buffing them and applied Colorbar Nail Treatment.

When it dried off I used a nude pink polish on my nails (Pink Kisses, Avon Simply Pretty). I applied 3 coats altogether and let it dry completely.

Now I poured out a little glittery purple polish (Sparkling Mauve, Street Wear). With the help of a makeup sponge I applied it on 1/3rd of my nails and let dry.

Again I poured out a little silver polish on a paper (Silver French Tip, Revlon) and dabbed the sponge with the polish and dabbed my nails with it, just the tips.
Sparkling Mauve on 1/3rd

Lastly I sealed it in with a top coat and yipee I am all done.

Though I was not satisfied with my work, my mom suggested that I should put it up here. Hope you like it and leave your sweet comments for my masterpiece :P ;)
Thanksss
