My Opinion: - I am very fond of foundations, they are my new found love. I have been using Revlon Foundations since a very long time, I began with Revlon New Complexion Makeup, Revlon Touch and Glow Makeup sometimes and then one of my faves Revlon PhotoReady Makeup, which I still use. Recently Revlon launched Colorstay Whipped Creme Makeup and I grabbed it as soon as I saw it in the counter. Right now I am going through a "Foundation Phase", using about 10-15 different foundations. I know its funny but I can't help buying & trying different brands/varieties of foundations.

Ok now coming back to the review of Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Makeup, the packaging of the product is attractive but bulky. It comes in a thick glass jar with a black plastic lid and upon open the main black lid, there is another protective white plastic lid which seems flimsy to me. The glass jar is so thick that the exact shade cannot be guessed by just looking at the product from outside. It is very deceiving and you have to swatch the shade to know it. The particular counter I went to had only 3 shades- 1 was very whitish, I did look like a ghost and the 2nd was very dark, i did look unnaturally tanned so I decided on 370 Natural Tan which is somewhat dark for my skin tone but still I can make do with it.

The texture of this foundation is very smooth-creamy and the consistency is thick, kind of viscous I can say. This foundation is not at all runny but its somewhat liquidy. It is different than most other foundies I have used. It's a creamy liquidy foundation,I don't have words to describe the consistency other than that. It glides on my skin very easily even without a primer and blends like a dream without leaving streaks. I sometimes use my fingers and sometimes I use a Flat Topped Foundation Brush. Both ways it works good for me, but using a brush gives more coverage compared to using fingers. The fragrance is not very good but its like medicine or clay, sorry can't describe properly but the scent will not put you off.

It takes around 5 mins to sink into my skin and the best thing is it gets better with time. I mean it does not wears off or fades off but looks much better as time passes. So I don't need touch ups even a single time during my 12 hours of wear time. I have worn on 3 occasions for more than 16 hours and there was no sign of the foundation wearing or fading off. Thumps up to Revlon for this but I don't think anyone would go to the extent of wearing it for 24 hours to prove the claim. At the end of the day I don't feel like removing it from my face as it still looks fresh and air brushed.

Its a medium coverage foundation and I always apply an extra layer of it on problem areas. I need to apply concealer below my eyes and I am good to go. I do not feel the need to apply a powder to set it as I love the dewy glow it gives my skin. It does not look greasy, cakey and over done but gives a satiny matte look to my skin as time passes. It is definitely a buildable foundation but does not give full coverage. This foundation does not feel heavy on my skin, it's light enough to let my skin breathe. It's working great for me as I do not have much imperfections on my skin right now. Also regular use of this foundation didn't break me out and taking it off is so easy that I can remove it with a normal cleanser or just face wash, I do not need to use a Make-up Remover.

This foundation is easily available in Revlon Counters and Beauty Stores. The only problem is that most counters have only 3-4 shades and also I found a couple of stores without Testers :/ As of this running week I am not using this foundation on a daily basis as I plan to use on days I would not get time for touch ups or on days I know I would stay out for 12-16 hours. I have been using it for more than 20 days now and only a little product is gone so I can say Rs 800 is affordable.

My skin is oily and this winter it did not turn into combination like it usually does. This product controls the oiliness and shine but I shall have to wait for summers to see if it behaves the same when my skin gets oilier. I always use my moisturiser underneath this foundation, also I can skip sunscreen since this foundation contains SPF 20. Girls/ladies with dry skin should apply moisturiser before using this foundation. This product does not contain talc as well as parabens. Lastly I would like to say that this foundation photographs well without whitish cast.

Pros: -

* Easily Available as well as Affordable

* Suits my oily skin, doesn't make my skin greasy-oily

* Gives a matte- satiny look

* Does not look cakey or made up (thanks to the absence of talc)

* Doesn't contain parabens

* My skin looks dewy and air brushed

* Strangely (fortunate) is looks better as time passes, doesn't fade or wears off

* Stays on for 16 hours in and out of air-conditioned environment (haven't kept on for longer duration than that)

* Didn't break me out with regular application

* Blends like a dream and also sinks into my skin in a few minutes

* Does not settles into the fine line and pores

* 23.7 ml for Rs 800 is true value for money, as single blob covers the entire face & neck

Cons: -

* Heavy & Bulky glass jar is not travel friendly

* Also this kind of packaging makes is unhygienic ( I use a small plastic spatula to take out the product & sanitize the spatula every time before using)

I rate Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Makeup 5 out of 5 since the pros outweight the cons. Its a great medium coverage foundation which can be worn during the day as well as at night. I love the air-brushed effect it gives to my skin. I recommend it to all foundation lovers. Thank you Revlon for this product.

Hope you enjoy my review on Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Makeup, please do share your experiences with creme foundations.

Thank you & have a Blessed Sankranti/Pongal :)
