VELLVETTE BOX MARCH

                        This month keeping in mind the spirit of Holi, Vellvette Box came wrapped in a multi colored ribbon. I don't know why but I have been storing all the ribbons that came with this box :P This month I got my Vellvette Box on the 29th and this is only the second instance that I got it so soon, otherwise I have been receiving it on the first week of the next month :P So here are the samples for this month. Not happy but not disappointed as well. An average box for Holi!!!!

MAYBELLINE DREAM MATTE PRESSED POWDER- CREAM LIGHT 4-5 - REVIEW

9 gm for INR 475

Company Says: The Dream Matte Pressed Powder comes with special ultra-fine particles formula, which mattifies and leaves an air-soft, ultra-silky texture.  The pressed powder is encased in a stylish compact and comes with a suede touch puff, which smoothes onto the skin evenly for the most beautiful matte perfection!

Available in 4 shades.

Ingredients: - Not Listed

My Opinion: - Now that I have reviewed Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse, I now am reviewing the Dream Matte Pressed Powder. The shade sent to me by the brand/pr is a little lighter than my skin. But it somehow looks good on my skin and not whitish or ghastly. The packaging is very innovative, the top compartment houses the powder and the lower compartment houses a good quality puff and the mirror. The top compartment needs to be pushed gently to the front and the lower compartment opens. It opens and closes with a click sound and therefore it is travel safe/friendly.

                     This powder is finely milled and pressed thoroughly into the pan. It is non-fragrant and that's a big advantage. The texture of this powder is silky smooth and its very easy to blend in. The puff/applicator given with it is quite good and works well but I personally prefer a powder brush to apply this powder to my skin. I have used it in many ways and in each way it behaved well and looked good. I use it over my sunscreen/moisturiser when I don't want to wear a foundation and it mattifies enough, I use it over foundation and this powder sets it well.

                       Maybelline Dream Matte Pressed Powder evens out the skin tone to quite an extent. It gives sheer to near medium coverage and does not hide flaws on its own. Girls who want just a little coverage and even complexion can go for this pressed powder. But the ones who need some/good coverage will be highly disappointed. But this pressed powder stays on for long, it keeps my T zone matte for about 4-5 hours in an air-conditioned environment and about 2 hours most in an non air-conditioned environment.

                            It gives a nice finish to my skin immediately upon application. Does not give whitish cast even when the shade Cream Light 4-5 is lighter than my skin. It gives a polished look and but the word matte is not much of true during hot days. The ingredient list is not given and Rs 475 for a drugstore brand pressed powder which is not very effective is too much I feel. Other than that its a good pressed powder I feel as it didn't irritate my skin in any way.

Pros:

* Availability

* Finely milled and pressed thoroughly

* Non-fragrant

* Innovative packaging

* Blends like a dream

* Gives a polished look without the cakey-ness

* The puff provided with this pressed powder is very good and works well in emergencies

BLENDED

Cons:

* Ingredients list is missing

* The powder is not matte but semi-matte

* Not very long lasting

* Price is a bit high for Maybelline

                        I rate Maybelline Dream Matte Pressed Powder 4 out of 5. I like this powder and I recommend it to beauties with normal and combination skin. Overall its a good pressed powder and not matte as claimed but it is semi-matte.

Hope this review helped you in some and do leave behind your sweet comments and also share with us your experience of Pressed Powders. Thank you and have a great Sunday :)

MAYBELLINE DREAM LIQUID MOUSSE-CREAMY NATURAL- LIGHT 5- SWATCHES & REVIEW

30 ml for INR 575

Company Says: - The Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation is the first liquid foundation to provide a unique airbrush finish for a flawless complexion and Poreless skin. It has a revolutionary formula that combines a liquid with the air-soft feel of a mousse. The product delivers on three common problems many women encounter: texture correction, tone harmonizing, and luminosity. The new Dream texture provides a smoother, more even and luminous complexion. Dream Liquid Mousse brings skin the great coverage of a liquid foundation with the most comfortable lightweight feel of a mousse.

Available in 6 shades.

Ingredients: - Aqua/Water, Isododecane, Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone, Glycerin, Cyclohexasiloxane, PEG-9 Polydimethylsiloxyethyl Dimethicone, Butylene Glycol, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Disteardimonium Hectorite, PEG-10 Dimethicone, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, Sodium Chloride, Phenoxyethanol, Polyglyceryl-4 Isostearate, Capryl Glycol, Disodium Stearol Glutamate, PEG-9, Aluminum Hydroxide
[+/- May Contain: CI 77891/Titanium Dioxide, CI 77499, CI 77492, CI 77491/Iron Oxides] FIL D32376/1

My Opinion: - I must be last beauty blogger to review this Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse. I have used it in many ways and since many many months now. The packaging of this foundation is a thick bottle with a beige plastic pump dispenser. The pump dispenser needs to be turned to the left to unlock and then only it would dispense the product. Hence its travel-friendly and hygienic as I don't have to dip my fingers to take out product. But the bottle is prone to breakage with falls, so needs to be handled with care.

                 It has no fragrance whatsoever and that it a big advantage for girls with sensitive skin/nose. It is thicker than most liquid foundations and very creamy as well. The texture right away hints on it being air-whipped. I use a sunscreen on my skin and then apply this foundation. It blends like a dream and easily spreads on my skin. I use my fingers to blend in it but foundation/stippling brushes just as fine. Sponges also work well with this foundation but I prefer fingers for the ease of blending.

THE HOLE GETS CLOGGED WITH FOUNDATION

                      This foundation gives a matte look to my skin upon application but becomes dewy after on hour or so and later on it becomes a little greasy. This foundation stays put on for atleast 5-6 hours in an air-conditioned environment without a compact/loose powder but in a non air-conditioned environment is needs to be touched up sooner, say around 3-4 hours. Otherwise it lasts on my skin for a long time, though summer calls for frequent touch ups in a non air-conditioned environment.

                          This liquid mousse gives medium coverage which can be built up if required to a high coverage. I don't need to use a concealer on my under circles (mine are light) and I can skip concealer totally if I use this foundie a little more on my blemishes/imperfections, not that I have a problematic skin with lots of spots/flaws/imperfections. It does not oxidise on my oily skin nor does it gives me a cakey look. Photographs well, no white cast since it does not comes with Sun Protection. You can never have everything at once :P

                             This foundie did not break me out or irritate my skin. It actually gives an airbrushed effect to my skin as claimed by the brand. Pores around my nose are gone, they are made invisible by this liquid mousse. It does not settles down into the pores and give that aweful look which we all hate. Does not give my skin a heavily made up look even after layering. My skin looks fresh and alive with tjis foundation on.

Pros: -

* Easily Available & Affordable

* I need only 2 pumps for each application, little goes a long way

*Blends well with fingers but I do use a stippling brush at times

* Buildable, can be layered and built up to high coverage

* Gives medium coverage, girls/ladies with minor imperfection need not use a concealer

* Pores are minimized

* Gives my skin Airbrushed look

* Does not oxide on my oily skin

* Does not break me out or irritate my skin

BLENDED

Cons: -

* Transfers to cell phone screen, collars, necklines, tissues, etc etc

* Needs to be powdered a couple of times throughout the day , well thats ok with me

* The hole on the pump dispenser clogs with dried foundation if I donot use it for a couple of days

* No Sun Protection (I use a sunscreen underneath it)

             I rate Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse 4.75 out of 5 for the airbrushed look it gives my skin. Oilies like me will certainly need powdering couple of times but its totally worth it. Great for normal and dry skin types. A great foundation for my skin and luckily the shade sent by PR/Brand matched me perfectly. Thanks Maybelline for this Baby :D

Hope this review helped you in some way, do leave behind your lovely comments and also share with us your experiences with Maybelline Foundations. Thank you and have a rocking Saturday :)

CREAMY EYES BY ELLIS FAAS- PR INFO

For release this spring, Ellis has created seven new shades of her cult-favourite Creamy Eyes formulation. A little while back we already extended the range, and with this new release there will be no less than 21 great shades to choose from:

Deep Black (E103), Grey Brown (E104), Deep Warm Taupe (E105), Lilac Taupe (E106), Taupe (E107), Desert Beige (E108), Creamy White (E109)
Navy Blue (E113), Bordeaux Red (E114), Purple (E115), Lilac (E116), Mint Green (E117), Light Blue (E118), Yellow Ochre (E119)
Deep Purple (E123), Teal (E124), Khaki Green (E125), Warm Brown (E126), Ginger Freckle (E127), Old Pink (E128), Peachy Skin (E129)

Creamy Eyes transform from a liquid to dry, velvety texture upon application. With quick-drying properties, this innovative anti-aging formulation provides all-over, light-weight coverage that stays crease-free throughout the day. A special blend of flower and coffee extracts smoothes skin and reduces wrinkles while restoring lost moisture and protecting from external aggressors. The range is ideal for a quick smoky eye, since before it dries there is sufficient playtime. Creamy Eyes can also be used like a thick pencil around the eye or to contour and shade in the eyelid crease. For extra drama, cover the entire eyelid using the built-in brush, layer and then fade the edges with the fingertips. When it has dried, the revolutionary formula is extremely long-wearing and will stay fixed until it’s taken off with a cleanser.

Creamy Eyes glides on like velvet to smoothen, lift and firm the lids. Even a thin film instantly adheres to the skin for superior wear that lasts without budging. Enriched with Para Cress flower extract, Creamy Eyes stimulates natural skin-lifting capabilities. Coffee extract works to increase collagen and elastin production while also increasing natural skin defenses. Extreme wear is delivered through the synthetic filming polymers in volatile oils. The spongy soft mousse-like consistency of the texture is achieved through the innovative siliconic wax and siliconic gel in combination with beeswax.

Price: €26/$36/£23.

SKIN CARE FAVORITES Vol. 1

                         I have been doing 'favorite' posts for makeup since the beginning of this year, ok I have missed a couple of weeks in between but I am trying to be regular with my posts. I am getting lots of request on fb/mail to do a 'favorite' post on skin care. I have been putting it off since more than a month and I am very very sorry to the ones who requested this post. Ok let me tell you guys that I keep changing the products as and when required or sometimes when I feel like. Also I do not use all of these products every day, I use them according to my mood. Just to let you guys know, I have very oily skin with frequent breakouts but as of now my skin is behaving well. So here I am with my Skin Care Faves (Not faves really) for the month of March.

First the cleansers- Face Wash and Scrub

1. Nivea Pure Effect Total Face Cleanup- Normal to Oily Skin : Very similar to Garnier Light 3 in 1 Fairness Facial. Both these products are multi-tasking but this one has 5 benefits. But I never use it as a face wash. It truly controls oiliness and greasy-ness.

2. Garnier PureActive Neem Face Wash: I always have a back up of Himalaya Neem Face Wash and I can tell you this is equally good. I am so loving it. Reviewed here

3. Lakme Clean Up Nourishing Glow Face Wash: One the latest launches by Lakme in Skin Care, red transparent tubes are an attraction. Though I bought he entire range, just because I wanted to try them out. This is a mediorce product, nothing much in it.

4. Garnier Light 3 in 1 Fairness Facial: Another multi-tasking product which I am liking a lot these these. Easy to carry around while travelling, which I do frequently. Reviewed here

5. Lakme Clean Up Nourishing Glow Scrub: New launch from Lakme, its a nice scrub, not very harsh. And also it good to my skin. Review coming soon.

Toners comes next:

1. Avon Naturals Tea Tree Oil & Green Tea Purifying Toner: This is a good toner for oily and acne-prone skin. Keeps oil at bay for 3-4 hours. Nice product and I think I can use it through out summers.

2. Shiseido The Skincare Hydro-Balancing Softener: This I got in one of the boxes of Vellvette. Good toner but expensive. Working well for now but I don't think this is going to work out for me the summers. This product is good for Normal to Combination Skin.

Now the Packs:

1. Oriflame Pure Skin Blackhead Clearing Mask: Nice mask I must say, My nose is so prone to blackheads so I have been using this mask since sometimes now and yep its working well for me.

2. Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash: I always have back ups for this face pack, I love it and I trust it. Once a week I need this on my face or I just feel guilty. It actually controls and dries up my break outs. Reviewed here.

Day Creams:

1. Garnier Light Daily Moisturiser SPF 15: Another Garnier product I am using right now. This cream balls up and gives a white cast. I am using it just to finish it off. Reviewed here.

2. Oriflame Essentials Balancing Face Cream: It works for me in winters and till now its working well but maybe next month I will need another moisturiser (any suggestions girls??). This is a light-weight moisturiser but it comes without Sun Protection. I keep coming back to it very time during winters and pleasant weather.

Night Cream:

Garnier Light Overnight Peeling Fairness Cream: I am obsessed with the word Fairness. I know these give radiant skin but not fairness. And I don't need to become any fair, am good enough. This night cream is non-greasy and light-weight. Nothing special but good nonetheless. Reviewed here.

Eye Care:

1.  Garnier Light Eye Roll On: This is perfect for day time use, reduces oiliness of my otherwise oily lids. De-puffs well and brightens the under eye area in general. Non-fragrant and very affordable. Reviewed here.

2. Oriflame Optimals Seeing Is Believing Eye Cream: I use this one at nights and I love it a lot. It de-puffs and lightens dark circles considerably. It does not irritate my eyes and I am using this eye cream sinces ages on and off. Review coming soon.

Thank you all for reading this post, have a rocking weekend :)
